When does the Global Institute: Ecuador program run?
The Global Institute: Ecuador program runs July 31st – August 18th, 2019.
Who should apply / participate in the Global Institute: Ecuador program?
As an interdisciplinary program, the Global Institute: Ecuador program is open to a wide range of applicants. You must either be a current undergraduate student, or will be starting your university studies in September of 2019.
Will I receive academic credit for participating in the program?
The academic component of the program is structured so that students are able to earn university exchange credits while participating in the program. Each participant is automatically enrolled in two courses at our partner institution, UDLA. If you are a current university student, we advise that you speak with your academic advisor to determine exactly how your credits will transfer. If you are transitioning into university/college in September 2019, please speak with us and will discuss with you how these credits will transfer to your institution.
What type of support can I expect in-country?
We have a Program Director as a part of our team that will oversee and run the program. The in-country staff members(s) live in close proximity to the homestays, and are there to provide support. The Program Director will also coordinate everything required in lead up to the program, and will run the orientation once you arrive in Quito!
Where will I live?
Our program participants will be placed with homestay families who have extensive experience welcoming international visitors. Living with a home stay will allow you to develop your Spanish language skills even further, all while developing meaningful relationships and friendships with local Ecuadorians.
I have participated in your Ecuador program. How can I get a second copy of my official transcript?
You can submit a request for additional copies of your transcript by contacting us. Please note that you will need to pay a $50 USD administrative fee for each additional transcript copy, plus the cost of international shipping (in the event that you need the documents sent to an academic institution or to your home).
