FIJI

WHY FIJI

The Engage Fiji program is designed to take students to the nation that is leading the Pacific with ambitious social environmental initiatives to support the Sustainable Development Goals. Students will meet with change makers in the region that are taking action to protect our precious planet and make it a better place for all.

Hands-on Experience

Students participating in Engage Fiji will have the opportunities to meet change makers, discuss complex and challenging issues, volunteer on meaningful projects and observe untouched habitats, all while learning from community members.

Unpacking Sustainable Development

As the largest of the South Pacific Small Island States, Fiji has taken on the regional responsibility to spearhead initiatives combating climate change, sea-level rise, forced migration, and increasing food insecurities. Students will explore some of the inspiring work that is being done in the region with visits to our NGO partners.

Testimonials

I gained incredible, first hand experience in a part of the world I had never visited before, and I met so many incredible people. Our Insight Guide was awesome and helped us to feel at home in a place that was very different to life in Canada."

SARINA, STUDENT

Fii was an incredible country. Our schedule was jam packed, but it allowed us to see the whole main island in only 10 days!... I hope I will be able to go back!!"

BRIAN, STUDENT

“I have always cared about the environment, but since going to Fiji, I have really become much more passionate about climate change. We met so many people who shared experiences about sea-level rise and how the environment is changing so quickly and it made it so much more real. After this trip, I couldn’t sit by, I needed to act.”
