Travel from Los Angeles to Florida Keys where you’ll uncover how the stunning natural environment has inspired some of the greatest literary minds.

Discover how the unique atmosphere of Key West has shaped the work of writers like Tennessee Williams and Elizabeth Bishop during a guided literary tour. In the afternoon, connect the creativity of the written word with the vibrant underwater world as you delve into coral reef conservation and explore how the natural beauty of the Keys influences both art and science.

Explore the relationship between environmental change and creative expression as you learn about invasive species and their impact on the ecosystem. A visit to a turtle hospital highlights how the natural world not only inspires but also requires our stewardship. The day concludes with a writing workshop that draws parallels between Hemingway’s storytelling and the delicate balance of nature.

Experience the mangrove and seagrass ecosystems firsthand on a kayaking adventure, and reflect on how these surroundings influenced the works of literary legends. The afternoon takes you to Hemingway’s home, where the rugged beauty of Key West becomes a backdrop to his tales of resilience and courage. Venture to Dry Tortugas National Park for a day where history, nature, and creativity converge.
