Globalize Your Classroom

Using travel as an educational platform to help students become global citizens, we inspire critical thought while exposing youth to diverse and inspiring regions of our planet.

Theme-Based Programming

Insight’s team of educators carefully craft itineraries that connect the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals with student experiences abroad. Our custom programs typically combine two to three themes, ensuring students get exposed to diverse concepts while abroad.

Community-Focused & Action-Based Learning

Our team works closely with local communities to ensure that students in our programs get an authentic experience with opportunities grounded in informed action. Students will meet inspiring change-makers and learn practical ways to support community-based projects abroad and at home.

Engaging workshops & debriefs

Each day of the program will wrap-up with a thought-provoking debrief, drawing connections between our daily activities and the program themes.  As a part of our program, Insight offers in-school workshops and debriefings, both before and after the trip experience.

Personal Developement

Our itineraries are filled with hands-on activities that will help students build personal and cross-cultural skills. Activities will involve student-led inquiry that will challenge them to think critically, become more open-minded, and develop teamwork and communication skills. Our programs place a high-level of importance on intentional reflection.

OUR PROGRAM LOCATIONS

Over the last decade, Insight has brought over 600 high school and university students to the Global South. In all of our programs, students visit project sites, engage with local change-makers, question existing norms, and develop a holistic understanding of some of the challenges and opportunities present in our global society. With over 75+ partnerships with community based organizations, companies and academic institutions, Insight prioritizes local perspectives and collaboration.

We are excited to deliver a truly life changing global experience for your students.

SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY

Travelling abroad is a big step for students and their parents. Before your child’s departure we want to answer any questions you may have so that you can feel confident in our risk mitigation and safety procedures. Each year, we undergo intensive risk assessment in each of our countries that we operate in. Extensive precautions are taken to maintain the physical, emotional and mental health of each participant while travelling abroad with us.

As part of our risk mitigation strategy, all our High School programs include:

  • Parent and student pre-departure preparation
  • In-country orientation and daily briefings
  • Experienced team of local guides and global facilitators
  • Reputable hotels, bus/transit operators
  • Professionally managed itineraries
  • Comprehensive travel insurance
  • Clear student safety rules and policies

If a medical emergency situation should arise, our in-country team and facilitators are there to support students and teachers with obtaining medical care. In developing all of our itineraries, our team will ensure that each location we visit offers access to emergency medical care.

Testimonials

Getting to travel with your friends is awesome, but what made this trip special was it also challenged us to think differently and work together. The friends I made on this trip will definitely be friends for life!"

Jayson, Ecuador 2018

These trips have been meticulously planned by Insight Global Education with critical details such as specific itineraries, clearly articulated medical access and emergency preparedness. This high-level of preparation that goes into each of the trips is mandated by our district and is consistently achieved. When sending our students abroad, we are confident that Insight Global Education places the highest priority on student safety and security."

Dave Eberwein,
Deputy Superintendent, Saanich School Board

"I traveled with Insight to Uganda and Rwanda. Learning about climate change and sustainability in the Global South inspired me to study environmental management in university. This trip expanded my world view, and I will never forget it."

RUDI BALLARD, EAST AFRICA 2015

"I gained incredible, first hand experience in a part of the world I had never visited before, and I met so many incredible people. Our Insight Guide was awesome and helped us to feel at home in a place that was very different to life in Canada."

SARINA, FIJI 2017

"We have successfully partnered on two international trips to Uganda and Rwanda with the team at Insight… Not only was the curricular content appropriate and meaningful, but it provided our staff and students a caliber consistent with preparation for post-secondary studies. Insight Global Education’s philosophy of meaningful change is reinforced in such a way that the impact upon students will be long-lasting, not simply educational tourism."

STEVE RAUH, PRINCIPAL AT WEST SECONDARY SCHOOL
